ENVIRONMENTAL- & SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

At DOLLE we are a responsible company and ensure that our environmental management system respects all relevant laws and regulations related to correct and sustainable behaviour in the society. We act responsibly towards our own social and environmental impact in all aspects of our operations.

Our behaviour and corporate culture within climate, environment and sustainability must continuously reflect and adapt to current changes in the surrounding society and as an important element in maintaining DOLLE’s position as a preferred and development-oriented partner.

DOLLE’s environmental and sustainability policy is an integral part of the company's social responsibility (CSR) policy and must address both formal rules and standards as well as the customer-driven requirements related to sustainability conduct.

To minimise the risk of negative impacts throughout our supply chain, we place high demands on ourselves and our suppliers to comply with the DOLLE Group Code of Conduct. In this connection, DOLLE will incorporate supplier selection procedures that include both an economic and environmental calculation as a basis for deciding on the establishment of trade agreements.

As part of our product development, we will improve the sustainability and protectiveness of our packaging solutions through the development and implementation of new standards that ensure that product packaging has the lowest possible environmental impact, while protecting, delivering, and presenting our product in perfect condition to our customers.

DOLLE will continuously work to increase awareness among both new and existing employees of the company's environmental policy and objectives, so that they have a strong foundation in the behaviour and culture that is crucial to ensuring the goal of sustainable production.

UN GLOBAL COMPACT

We are committed to the UN Global Compact. DOLLE is part of the UN Global Compact, the world's largest sustainability initiative for businesses. By participating in the Global Compact, DOLLE commits to continuously strengthen our work with the Global Compact's 10 principles in the areas of human rights, labour rights, environment and anti-corruption and contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Our 4 factories in Denmark, Romania, Ukraine and China are committed to the UN Global Compact.

Environment & sustainability in practice

DOLLE sites and factories

We have implemented several sustainable energy solutions across several of our sites:

  • Solar panels have been installed at both the factory in Ukraine and the warehouses at DOLLE GmbH in Bremen
  • Heat recovery systems have been implemented at the factory in Frøstrup
  • Both the factory, the office, and the town of Frøstrup are supplied with heat through the use of our left-over wood - biofuel

Innovative product development

To minimize our environmental impact, we at DOLLE work to develop products that have a minimal negative impact on the environment and at the same time create value for our customers.

Among other things, we can highlight our clickFIX® loft ladders with a strong climate profile that sets a new standard for the insulation value (u-value) of loft ladders. This means that consumers save energy in their homes, while also avoiding thermal bridges. In other words, you achieve the best insulation value on the market, making it possible to reduce heat loss in the home.

Material review & goals

We continuously review our production methods, paying particular attention to the use of materials, and set ambitious goals for the future with the aim of minimising our environmental impact.

Our current goals include the following:

  • We will reduce our CO2 emissions by 50% by 2030.
  • We will recycle and reduce the use of packaging.
  • We will increase the amount of recyclable materials in DOLLE's products. Already now, our shrink film already consists of 30% recycled plastic.
  • We will reduce the share of plastic materials in our packaging by 25% by 2025. This includes the phasing out of ESP as a packaging filler and plastic protection on loft ladders.

ISO 14001 Environmental Management

In our ongoing efforts to reduce DOLLE's climate and environmental footprint on the world, we have been certified according to ISO 14001 Environmental Management. The ISO 14001 environmental management system provides the framework for targeted reduction of waste, chemicals, and CO2 emissions from the company's production and other activities.
The certification is the result of a third-party assessment confirming that DOLLE complies with applicable laws and is dedicated to working with the ISO 14001 standard.
